About Diraasa
Diraasa is an online home for Quran and Arabic learning, built for Muslim families who want a teacher they can trust without managing the logistics. One family, one teacher, one class at a time.
What we are
Diraasa connects families in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and beyond with qualified Quran and Arabic teachers for one-to-one online classes. A parent can find a teacher, book a class, and follow a child’s progress from a single dashboard that holds up to six children. Adults learning for themselves, including reverts beginning their journey, are just as welcome.
How teachers are verified
Every teacher on Diraasa is reviewed for recitation and teaching ability before a single family can book them. Scholars listen to how a teacher recites and assess how well they teach. A formal Ijazah is one signal we value, but it is not the gate: a strong reciter who teaches beautifully belongs here even without one. Every teacher also completes identity verification before delivering any class.
Teachers never see a family’s contact details. Booking, scheduling, messaging, and payment all live on Diraasa, so a parent can trust the platform to hold the relationship rather than handing over a phone number to a stranger.
Privacy is a feature, not an afterthought
We do not record video of any class. Instead, each class is transcribed and a written progress note is delivered to the parent afterwards, so a parent can see what was covered without a camera recording of their child living on a server somewhere. This is a deliberate commitment to the trust that Muslim families place in us, and you can read the detail on our Safeguarding page.
How families pay
Diraasa is pay per class. There is no subscription and there are no credits to buy in advance. A teacher sets their own rate and keeps all of it; families pay a small platform fee on top, and the price a family sees is the price they pay, with all fees included.
Who teaches on Diraasa
Our teachers come from Egypt and the wider Arab world, where the Quran is recited in its native tongue, and from India and Pakistan, where a strong tradition of hifz and English fluent teaching meets. They teach on Diraasa because it brings them students, handles payment reliably, and pays them fairly for work they love.
